Summary of Meg 2: The Trench:
The movie starts in the Cretaceous Period, where various creatures hunt smaller animals. A T-Rex is attacked by juniorbola small but fierce dinosaurs called Snappers. Suddenly, a Megalodon jumps out of the water and grabs the T-Rex, pulling it underwater.
In the present, Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) comes out of a shipping container on a boat in the Philippine Sea. He aims to stop some men from dumping toxic waste into the ocean. After gathering intel, he fights the men and jumps into the water, where he is rescued by Mac (Cliff Curtis) and Rigas (Melissanthi Mahut) in a helicopter.
At a marine research center in China, Jiuming Zhang (Wu Jing) is testing an exo-suit for underwater work. He is the uncle of Meiying (Sophia Cai) and brother to the late Suyin, with Jonas now acting as a guardian for Meiying. They attend an event hosted by Jiuming’s partner, Hilary Driscoll (Sienna Guillory). Jiuming honors Suyin and their father, promising to continue their ocean research. He also introduces Haiqi, a captured Megalodon that seems to follow his commands. Meanwhile, Jonas notices a man named Montes (Serigo Peris-Mencheta) watching him suspiciously.
